At Usul, I’m the Head of Product Design, leading design and frontend development. I design and build both internal and external tools, and work across user research, product marketing, and product design. Across all of it, I focus on making complex systems feel natural to use.
As a kid, I had a spidey sense for how others saw and felt things, but I always wanted to know more. That natural curiosity about how people process information, got me interested in psychology, but I wanted to do more than understand. I wanted to get up and do something. That’s what led me to study Cognitive Science with an emphasis in Design and Interaction at UC San Diego.
That mix of psychology and instinct still shapes how I work: prioritizing clarity, usability, and structure so tools support people rather than overwhelm them.
Since then, I’ve worked across healthcare, startups, and defense, all with a common thread of high stakes, high impact work where there’s no room to overcomplicate things.
Outside of work, I taught myself 3D design that made it into AV’s official product collateral, I’m 19 books into 2025, and there’s always an album fixation on rotation. I also enjoy mentoring students and others trying to break into design or needing a little help getting started, and I like taking classes that pull me out of my comfort zone.
